Weighing up a ServiceM8 alternative? The work starts before the job does.

ServiceM8 is job management software. It takes a booking, schedules the work, runs the day on site and sends the invoice, and it does that thoroughly. Its front door is an online booking form. Most Irish enquiries arrive long before that, on WhatsApp at nine at night or in an Instagram DM. inflow is a lead inbox. Every message lands in one feed, a reply is drafted in your own words, and the quote goes out in the same thread.

Why people look

Why people go looking for a ServiceM8 alternative

01

The meter is jobs, not seats

ServiceM8 does not charge per user, and paid plans carry unlimited users. That is better than the per-seat model most of this market uses. What the cost tracks instead is how many jobs you run. On the UK pricing page the ladder is £25 a month for 50 jobs, £59 for 150, £119 for 500 and £269 for 1,500 or more, with 15p a job above the top plan. A good month moves you up a rung.

02

It starts when the job does

The enquiry route ServiceM8 advertises is an online booking form, hosted free and linked from your website or your social profiles. Complete the form and the job is created and scheduled. That is tidy for a customer who is ready to book. The person who sends a photo of a leaking cylinder at 21:40 and asks what you would charge is not filling in a form.

03

Messaging is not what it is for

ServiceM8's feature pages cover job management, scheduling, quoting and invoicing, payments, forms, asset management, online booking, accounting sync and a phone add-on. They do not advertise WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, a shared message inbox or drafted replies. For most Irish trade businesses, WhatsApp is where the leads are.

What inflow does instead

Start where the job starts: the first message

One inbox

The enquiry lands somewhere before it lands in a form

WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, email and your website form arrive in the same feed, newest first, and the Unanswered tab shows what still needs a reply. Five apps checked at night becomes one.

Who should stick with ServiceM8

If your bottleneck is the day rather than the enquiry, ServiceM8 is built for you and inflow is not trying to be. It has job cards, dispatch, staff on a map, on-site quoting and invoicing, card payments, electronic forms and sync to Xero, QuickBooks Online and MYOB. inflow has none of that. Plenty of businesses would sensibly run both: ServiceM8 for the job, inflow for the enquiry that turns into one.

Who should choose inflow

You answer your own messages, mostly from the van. Your leads arrive on WhatsApp and Instagram as often as through the website. You have lost work to a slower answer, quotes go quiet because nobody has time to chase them, and your phone is the pipeline. That is the business inflow is built for.

Quick questions

Before you decide

Is inflow a replacement for ServiceM8?

Only for the front end. inflow has no job cards, no dispatch, no invoicing and no accounting sync. What it replaces is the scramble before the job exists: the enquiries, the replies and the quote.

Does inflow charge per user or per job?

Neither. One monthly price with everything in it, cancel anytime. The number is announced at launch and everyone on the waitlist hears it first.

Can I run inflow alongside ServiceM8?

Yes. They sit at different ends of the same week. inflow catches the enquiry and gets the quote out; ServiceM8 runs the job once the customer says go.

Does anything send without me seeing it?

No. Drafts wait for your tap, and nothing goes out unless you send it.

If the enquiry is where you are losing work

inflow is the lead inbox for Irish trade businesses. First access goes to the waitlist, in order.
